Remanufacturing is not the same as "fixing" or "repairing". Remanufacturing requires that the product be indistinguishable from the new product in performance, when the performance is defined by capacity, efficiency and life expectancy.

The essentials of remanufacturing compressors are:
   All running clearances are returned to new.
   All life-cycle sensitive parts are returned to new.
   All engineering changes made to the current models are re-incorporated in the compressor.
   Machines are assembled and tested with the same techniques used for new ones.
